The area
Vegueta is where Las Palmas began: a mix of architecture from the 15th to the 19th century, cobbled streets and carved wooden balconies. Walking its lanes is a must on any visit to the island, with plenty of places where Spanish and Canarian food will win you over.
There are small supermarkets around the corner and the Vegueta market for fresh fruit, fish and meat. The Sagulpa public car park is a two-minute walk away, Las Canteras and the city beaches are about five minutes by car, and the airport is 19 km away.
